RIP my wallet. Minimum of $500 just for lodging. Guess I’m not getting new skates soon.

Lots of AirBnBs in that area, just stayed in one this weekend in fact. My wife and I have stayed at Aloft, which is nice but overpriced, and a couple other actual Bed and Breakfasts in the area - the Sourwood Inn is nice as is the 1899 Wright Inn.

We stayed in an airbnb for around $100 a night in downtown Asheville.

Part of my problem is we want to be downtown as it’s closer tot he brewery’s which we are both a fan of. Maybe I’m being too picky or the budget.

Walking distance or Uber distance? The AirBnB we just stayed in was a cheap Uber (like $12) and the 1899 Wright would probably be sub-$10. Once you’re downtown you can walk everywhere, of course. Aloft is pricey, but you’ll be in the middle of everything, which is nice. Sourwood is way the hell out there, so you’d be driving everywhere.

I’d prefer walking distance but Uber is never a bad option. I’ll look at 1899.

Half an hour Uber ride to downtown though.

Our airbnb was maybe a 6 block walk to the area with the taprooms.

Do you have a link?

Just tried booking a hotel for a Saturday night in June in downtown Seattle. Holy moley.

I’ll have to check when I get home from work. This was 2 summers ago so it might not be helpful. The best place we stayed was after Asheville. We took the Blue Ridge Parkway towards Roanoke and stayed in a converted train caboose through airbnb. About $100 a night for an entire caboose with a king size bed and a jacuzzi tub. That was near Fancy Gap Virginia.

I’d roll out the red carpet, except I’m like a half hour away and have limited lodging at that.

Nice man! I live in Asheville. I would suggest looking around weaverville, Swannanoa, or Leicester. Can find places that are with 15-30 min away from downtown depending on how far out you look. My family alway finds a nice place somewhat close for about 500 for a few days. There’s also a really nice hostile called sweet peas downtown. Any way I can help let me know

Yeah, doesn’t look good. Took a quick look and it seems hotels that are charging $100/night now are charging more than double that in May.

Yeah thzt’s what I have been seeing. Ugg

It didn’t come up in a quick search, but if you look just west of the breweries you’ll find lots of airbnbs for less than $200 a night.

That’s really neat!

I can put you up in my friend’s dorm at Warren Wilson for pretty cheap. You’ll have to share a bed with her though.

Looks like UNC Asheville has commencement May 12, which may factor into the May demand. Easy to swamp the hotels in a relatively small town.

We would be going the week after.

Following this thread because I’m going to Asheville next month for a mtb trip. I went with two Airbnbs, one in Brevard and one in Asheville.

Check out hot springs. Close enough to split the fun difference between in town daytime asheville activities and out of asheville walkable nightlife, more gorgeous, and drive the rattler. https://g.co/kgs/hQSs8p

When we went to Bermuda last year, airbnb was the only way. It was for the America’s Cup and hotels were minimum $700 per night. We stayed at an awesome airbnb for like, $1,100 for the week!
It looks like others have pointed you that direction already... perfect. I like hotels in some cases but other times, it can make or break a trip when things are overpriced or heavily booked, or both.

What skates are you eyeing?

Thinking some CCM RibCor 48K. I like the pump for ankle support rather then taping like I do now.
